The NAD+ Deception: How 9 Popular Brands Performed In Independent Lab Testing
Here's which ones actually deliver on their promises & which tested for...0% of the label claim
If you’ve been here long enough, you know not all health products are created with the typical health turbo autists’ desired level of potency & purity. And you also know that’s just part of why we do what we do: to separate signal from noise in the supplement space. Fortunately, the folks over at SuppCo are independently testing supplement potency so you don’t have to guess what’s really in the bottle.
But before we dissect how these products performed, let’s nail down the fundamentals: What does NAD+ do & why should you care?
Introduction to NAD+
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme present in all living cells required for cellular energy production, metabolism, & signaling pathways. As we age, NAD+ levels naturally decline up to 80%1 and have been linked to metabolic disorders, neurodegeneration, & reduced organ function. Why we’ve seen it gain the spotlight in the longevity space more than anywhere else.
NAD+ works by supporting redox reactions in the mitochondria. There, it acts as an electron carrier to support ATP synthesis.
Supplementation with NAD+ boosting compounds has already shown several potential benefits:
Improved insulin sensitivity2 → reduced risk of diabetes in prediabetic individuals
Better cardiovascular function3 → lowered blood pressure & arterial stiffness
After its mention in several popular mainstream health podcasts during the late summer of 2024, NAD+ exploded in popularity.
Now let’s take a look at how these brands stacked up against each other.

I’m amazed Double Wood tested so well. Haven’t they had a lot of issues with potency for other compounds?
Great post. It’s worth noting that the pill form has very low bioavailability. If you want the most bang for your buck, the injectable route is the way to go. It’s far more effective, but can be tricky to navigate. I’m happy to help anyone who needs guidance through the process, feel free to DM me anytime!
